Romans 7:1-7
Turning the Law on its Head

Paul's conception of the Law of Moses was biblical, yet radically different from the 1st century Jewish establishment. For Paul, the Law was incapable of delivered a person from sin and empowering them to be righteous before God. Rather, in our sinful state, Paul saw the Law as making one guilty before God and stirring up desires contrary to God's revealed righteousness. Therefore Israel, needs a way to be freed from the Law and set right with God another way.
