The book of Hebrews states that no discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. However, it later produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. The children of Israel did not learn from the Lord's discipline, and they and their descendants faced the consequences. Yet, their failure should serve as a lesson for us to learn from our mistakes.
