The book of Ecclesiastes tells us that there is a time for everything under the sun: "a time to laugh and a time to weep, a time to rejoice and a time to mourn." While this holds true, we often rejoice when we should be mourning because we fail to see things from God's perspective. This is why the words of God's prophets can seem so harsh to their first listeners and even to us today.
