The Lord never sleeps nor slumbers. He is all‑powerful and never grows faint, and yet Scripture tells us He can be wearied by our sin and our grumbling. Through the prophet Malachi, God declared that Israel had wearied Him by their disobedience and their failure to reflect His character. But the same God who is wearied by sin also welcomes repentance. If they would return to Him, they could once again “wear” Him well as He draws near, restores them, and renews them in His covenant grace.
