Israel had long persisted in rebellion against the Lord. In His patience and long‑suffering, He continually called them to repentance, yet they refused to turn back. Instead of seeking Him in truth, Israel attempted to use the Lord for their own advantage. Ultimately, their hardness of heart led them into judgment, and the glory of God departed from them.
